The Sri Lankan branch of Al Mustafa International University will be introducing a three year special degree in Political Science and International Relations. The courses are available in English, Tamil and Sinhala. The course is recognized by the University Grants Commission and will be taught by well recognized scholars in the field.

The Credit System
The weight of the Political Science and International Relations Degree is 120 credits. Students are expected to complete 20 credits per semester. One credit is equal to 45 learning hours and the learning hours include lecture hours, self-learning, extracurricular activities, practical sessions and field visits.
Assignments and Examinations
Student performance is evaluated continuously throughout the degree program. The student evaluation system is based on the Continuous Assessment System (CAS). Under CAS, students are evaluated through classroom tests, oral presentations, assignments, project reports etc. The method of assessment is decided by the course leader and may differ from course to course. All assessments are evaluated, marked and returned to the students with comments from the marking examiner.
There will be a final examination at the end of each course and the final grade is determined by the overall performance of the CATs and the final examination.
The weight of the Continuous Assessment Tests is 50% and the final examination carry 50% of the final score. All students are encouraged to take the CATs seriously as securing a good mark by taking the final examination only, would be challenging.
A specified amount should be paid as Examination Fees before sitting for the exam.

Academic staffs of the MIU are comprised of experts of different subjects of Political Science and International Relations. Further the MIU has a highly skilled group of visiting lecturers who are the experts in international politics, conflict resolution, public policy and public administration.
